Charulatha's Performances - A Profile
Charulatha has performed concerts from the age of 11, has over 500 full length concerts to her credit, and has emerged as a full fledged popular concert performer in Chennai today. She has performed in all major sabhas in Chennai including The Music Academy, Bharat Kalachar, Krishna Gana Sabha, Narada Gana Sabha, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Karthik Fine Arts, and Sri Parthasarathy Swami Sabha, among others.
Sabhas outside Chennai include Shanmukhananda Sabha, Bombay, Delhi, Poona Sangita Sabha, Kalasagaram, Hyderabad, Sri Thyagaraja Trust, Calicut and other centres in India.
She is a favourite among rasikas especially in the December season.
Charulatha has performed thematic concerts on several occasions such as exclusive Tamil Compositions, songs on a particular Kshetra, exclusive Shyama Sastri, Dikshitar and Thyagaraja Kritis, as well as Dasar padas.
She has sung at the holy Sringeri Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri in the prescence of His Holiness Sringeri Jagadguru for Navarathri on October 1st 2003.
Concerts Abroad
Charulatha has toured Singapore in July 2002 for concerts at the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society and other centers.
The Tamil Nadu Foundation Inc. USA, invited her to receive an award at their annual convention at Orlando in July-August 2003. Charulatha has performed in 15 centres across the USA and was widely appreciated and critically acclaimed.
